Essex Community Fund

Essex

In 2003, a group of concerned Essex, New York residents partnered with ACT to create a permanent endowment fund dedicated to serving the Town of Essex and its residents. This affiliation assures donors the prudent and discrete management of Essex Community Funds.

Today, close to $100,000 has been raised or pledged for ECF which strives to assist individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits with the preservation, maintenance, and enhancement of the natural ecology, environment, heritage, culture, and aesthetic qualities of the Town of Essex. There have been $20,000 in grants made to support organizations responding to the needs of the Town of Essex.

Three other funds have been established to support needs in the Town of Essex: Colin Fink Historic Preservation Fund for historic preservation projects; Charlie Goff Memorial Fund, and the Essex Heating Project to facilitate resources for heating fuel for needy residents.

The Fund has always been overseen by community volunteers. The advisory council changes over time and the volunteers ensure that every dollar is spent well and wisely. We thank the volunteers who help the fund grow.
