ADIRONDACK FOREIGN LANGUAGE Lake George Students on French Immersion DayENHANCEMENT FUND

  • Eligibility: All Adirondack foreign language teachers are eligible to apply for competitive innovation grants. Priority will be given projects that go beyond a school's budget to: Support immersion in French and Spanish language and culture, open opportunities to explore new teaching technologies, promote collaborative initiatives among schools, creating partnerships with BOCES to maximize efficiency and impact, support career enhancement training for teachers including workshops and conferences. 
  • Grant Range: $500 to $1,500
  • Interest Area: Education

  • Eligibility:  Families or individuals living in Essex, Clinton, or Franklin Counties of New York State, who encounter unexpected expenses while caring for severely ill children or young adults.

SPECIAL AND URGENT NEEDS FUND (SUN)

  • Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations that meet a well-documented human service community need (defined as organizations providing food, shelter or healthcare) in the Adirondack Region. We look for proposals that will allow an organization to:
  1. Take advantage of an unforeseen and time-sensitive opportunity that will enhance the organization's ability to meet its mission with excellence and efficiency
  2. Provide essential equipment, technology, or resources whose need could not have been anticipated or budgeted, and without which the work of the organization would be severely hampered
  3. Conduct emergency repairs of building mechanical systems (heating/cooling, water service, etc.) whose sudden and unexpected failure interferes with the provision of services
  • Grant Range: Up to $2,000
  • Interest Area: Human Services
  • Application Deadline: None, applications are accepted anytime
